About the Course
The Master of Social Work (MSW) program is a postgraduate degree designed to deepen students’ expertise in professional social work practice, research, and social policy. The curriculum integrates advanced theoretical knowledge with intensive fieldwork, enabling students to specialize in areas such as clinical social work, community development, social justice, and human rights. The program emphasizes skills in counseling, program planning, advocacy, and evidence‑based intervention strategies, preparing graduates for roles in governmental agencies, NGOs, healthcare settings, corporate social responsibility, and academic research.
Eligibility
A pass with 50% marks in aggregate in the degree examination (including B.Tech, MBBS, BAMS, BHMS and L.L.B.) declared by the University of Kerala as equivalent thereto with 50% in Part III in the case of B.A., B.Sc. and B.Com. A weightage of 25% seats for BSW holders for MSW course.
Admissions are based on a Common Entrance Test (CET), along
with group discussions and interviews, often weighted along with qualifying
exam marks.
