The Department of English at CHMM campus is striving for enrichment of the language and providing in depth aesthetic knowledge in English language to the students. The department catalyzes the students to achieve their goal .The department consists of 09 faculty members.

The B.A. (communicative English) programme consists of 06 semesters. Students have to learn 5/6 core papers per semester and they have to do a project work on their final semester, over a minimum period of 3 years. Each course involves 2 internal series tests, one model exam and one semester-end examination. Students\’ performance is graded in number of marks, and in a grade-scale. The final result sheets and certificates reflect both marks, and grades.

The Department has a collection of valuable reference books purchased from principal’s students welfare fund are kept in college library .Faculty members/students are permitted to take the weight off your feet in the library and work/refer during working hours. The Department is well equipped with the necessary educational aids.

In order to enhance communication skills among students, Department of English has organised a training session by Prof James Pathrose, Former  head –Department of English, Marivanious college Trivandrum .The programme ‘Accent’ was a great success .

Mr. Azhar, student of third semester BA CE  was crowned with ‘Bravery Award’ for saving life a teenage boy. This meritorious award was offered by  Pallikal Grama panchayath. Kudos Mr. Azhar.

Mr. Sree hari, student of third semester BA communicative English got Campion ship in National Karatte league last year , Bravo go ahead .
